User Password Setup

Introduction

This option allows you to set sign on password or transaction password, or both. The password is generated as per password generation algorithm and the parameters defined for password in PRPM table. The user makes use of these passwords to perform various bank operations.

Note:

• The application checks against the history of passwords set for user id before generating a new password. An appropriate warning message will be displayed to the user if the password is set recently.

• Whenever an bank user sets a new password, the user is forced to change the password on first log-on.

• Set password can be printed by the bank user using PWDPRINTBATCH Batch program

• Transaction password will not be printed for the users, who do not have transaction access as per user profile.

• Password can be dispatched to the registered e-Mail ID of the user instead of printing it on the pin mailer as per conventional method.

  If the Property value for PASSWORD_ALERT_TRIGGER is set to ‘Y’ then Finacle e-Banking application will check if the user’s email ID is registered. If yes, then after setting the password an alert will be triggered to that mail ID. If the alert is a mandatory alert and the mode of distribution of alert is email then Finacle e-Banking will generate the password file in a password protected PDF format and will be pushed on a network path commonly shared. Same will be picked up by Alert system for delivery and onus of delivery of the password will lie on Alert system. PDF file protection logic would differ from bank to bank, hence the infrastructure would be provided out of the box. Based on the customization requirement, user related information can be passed from the DB for PDF file encryption.

  Note:

  • Bank can also opt for unprotected PDF file for sharing the password over the mail.

  • If due to any technical glitch PDF is not generated then for those list of users logs would be maintained and the password can be sent through regular pin mailer way.

  • E-mail which is sent with password file as attachment will have the information as to how to open the PDF file.

  • If the user’s e-mail id is not registered an error message ‘The password cannot be sent by email as the user does not have a registered email ID. The password can be sent through pin mailer’ is displayed.

  • If the Property value for PASSWORD_ALERT_TRIGGER is set to ‘N’ then conventional way of printing the password on PIN mailer will continue.

When e-Banking application is portlet enabled then the user ID and signon password needs to created at the portal server. Please refer to the section of Creation of e-Banking users in portal environment in the e-Banking installation guide to know how to create the users.

Navigation

• Click Set Password in the User Maintenance screen under Consumer Administration option.

• The User Password Setup screen is displayed.

Bank ID

Displays the Bank ID.

Corporate ID

Displays the corporate ID.

Note:

This is applicable for corporate users only.

User ID

Displays the corporate or consumer or bank  user ID.

Set Password

Select the appropriate checkbox to set signon & transaction passwords. This option is also used for setting USSD pin.
