Create Authorization Modes

Introduction

This screen allows you to create different modes of authorization for a particular type of transaction and for a particular amount bracket for the selected Corporate.

For the particular retail user the authorization mode to be used for a particular transaction can be defined under the Authorisation Mode Precedence option. When the option User-level is chosen, the authorization mode defined under the User Id will be taken. In the same way when Transaction-level is chosen, the mode of authorization defined for that particular corporate for a particular transaction will be considered while executing the transaction.

During the modify or delete operation of ‘Authorization Mode’ records available at the corporate-entity level, there is no validation done against unapproved transactions. The changes done would take effect upon next user-action on such transactions.

For example : for authorising a FT entry of Rs.50000/- at the Corporate level, has been defined as Secure ID and at the User-level has been defined as Transaction password, then:

  1. If User level is chosen, that transaction will have to be authorised through the secure Id option.

  2. If Transaction -level is chosen, that transaction will have to be authorised throught the transaction password option.

In case the mode of authorization is chosen as Corporate-level, but nothing has been defined for the corporate then by default the user-level mode of authorization will be considered.

Depending on the ‘Authorization Mode Precedence’ setup at the corporate-entity level, the following behaviour will result:

  • If ‘Authorization Mode Precedence’ is set to ‘User-level’, then during transaction action, the value of ‘Authorization Mode’ setup at user-level will take precedence.

  • If ‘Authorization Mode Precedence’ is set to ‘Corporate-level’, then during transaction action, the value of ‘Authorization Mode’ setup at corporate-entity level will take precedence, thereby depending upon the ‘Transaction Type’ and the ‘Transaction Amount’ of the transaction under consideration.

  • If ‘Authorization Mode Precedence’ is set to ‘Corporate-level’, while no records exist for ‘Authorization Mode’ at corporate-entity level (or all of them may have been deleted), then it will be assumed that “no specific authorization mode is setup & therefore user-level authorization mode will be utilised by default” for all amount ranges for all transaction types.

    • As a corollary to the previous point, if no records exist for a particular transaction type and/or currency combination, then it will be assumed that “no specific authorization mode is setup and therefore user-level authorization mode will be utilised by default” for all amount ranges for that transaction type.

    • As another corollary to the previous point, if no records exist for a particular amount range for a particular transaction type, then it will be assumed that “no specific authorization mode is setup and therefore user-level authorization mode will be utilised by default” for that particular amount range for that transaction type. However, during a particular implementation, the customisation team should be able to specify that no authorization mode may be required for such a scenario.

  • During the modify/delete operation of ‘Authorization Mode’ records available at the corporate-entity level, there need not be any validation done against unapproved transactions. The changes done would take effect upon next user-action on such transactions.
